The bird’s eye view


Do you know that moment when you are suddenly looking at things from a different perspective? What I’m referring to is that moment when you start to see things from a different scope – from a bird’s eye view. This happened to me the other day when we had an internal meeting about our company’s future strategy.

With the blink of an eye the whole story of the company came to me. I’m talking about the days when Klaus Wallnofer and myself built this hardware that we called “SAM”.  It was a “black box” which was an attendant console and call accounting system for the old Nortel Meridian. A few years later we decided to migrate to Windows and consequently change the name to “SAMwin”. And today with our new marketing look, it’s ‘samwin”!

For a long time we had been working on proprietary interfaces with this pure software solution and we were bound to their functions and restrictions. It was a very exciting moment about 5 years ago when Peter Steiner came into my office and made the suggestion to drop all the state of the art interfaces at that time, like ISDN, TAPI, H323, etc. and to write software for the up and coming new “SIP standard”.

Since then we have basically written a completely new “samwin” consisting of an amazing stable of products and features and reliable SIP service, an easy to use web management interface and a sexy and handy user front end, our samwin attendant and call center console. Over the years we have created the most advanced product on the market. Many of our dealers recently told me that they see the samwin contact center suite as a real shooting star, providing added value to the customer unlike anything else on the market.

Our customers range from small and midsized companies up to multinational banks and industries. We provide 24/7 support from five locations worldwide in nine different time zones. It’s a fact that we have an excellent customer acceptance and satisfaction index.

In addition to the product, we’ve made a tremendous step forward with the marketing of our samwin contact center. From our new website, brochures, testimonials and newsletters, I see a remarkably ultramodern and informative Telecommunication Software identity.

I am very proud of not only what we have made here at Telecommunication Software Inc., I am also very proud of all our people that over the years have contributed so much time, effort and knowledge.

I just wanted to summarize these things for you, our valued customer. A quick side trip up to the bird’s eye view, before we all go back to our daily work.
